There is no way that the bar-b-cue sauce in Columbia can even begin to compare with any fine bar-b-cue sause from NC. still, some of the best bar-b-cue on earth comes from the 'Georgia Pig' outside of Savanah... where it is cooked over hickery by locals, cut and served to order. i use an ax, not my paddle, to crack a roasted pig's skull to get to the brains. bye bye bliven *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.gasp-seakayak.net/paddlewise/ ***************************************************************************

Maurice's in Columbia is good, and NC stuff will do if you cain't find any better, but you gotta (like folks from all over the South do) go to Carolina BBQ in New Ellenton, SC, or Sweats in Soperton, GA. Ain't no better nowhere. Proper use for a paddle is to stir the gumbo pot in LA, the "bile" (Frogmore Stew or Lowcountry Boil) in South Carolina. You just need a sharp stick for a BBQ.
