Re: [Paddlewise] surf boats

hi,

i'm inching my way from swamps, to rivers, to bays, and someday to surf
landings. along the way, i read that helmets are sometimes worn in the surf
zone to protect kayakers from each other's boats... i'd thought helmets were
for bouncing off the bottom.

anyway, a couple of my paddling buddies with experience in surfzone kayaking
recently had a boat to head collision... now one has his jaw wired. ahh for
sport.

still the surf calls me.
