.... >I would also add corner braces, and use pressure treated wood. Do you realize how toxic this teated wood is, it is one of the worst thing I know about... It has been proven that after acouple years outdoor in the elements, it still carries a very high level of toxicity I have had numerous P.U truck, and loads of racks for this and that, a light coat of any kind of fininsh will do just fime on regular wood... I am amazed the schools and parks departments use it for children' playgrounds... There have been many reported cases of hospitalisation caused by this wood, Do yourself a favor and do not use it... Through work, [ lanscaping & organic farm / garden consulting] i suggest to remove any of that wood and replace it with other types. around here I suggest Tamarac [ a hard wood evergreen which looses it's needles in the fall to grow new ones in the spring...It is very hard, will last forever, and with a coat of finish is practically undestructable... Just my advice have fun Yours naturally sylvio lamarche Wycliffe organic gardens & Exotic locales all over the globe *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.gasp-seakayak.net/paddlewise/ ***************************************************************************Received on Wed Sep 23 1998 - 07:26:21 PDT
