Kia Ora.,
a couple of clubmembers on a trip decided that the place looked
right for a spot of fishing from their kayaks. They were a good mile off
shore near a small rockey island.
Fish every where and close to the surface. It looked good until
they saw the first dorstal fin of a 6 foot shark and than another
one and a few more.By that time they were withdrawing very carefully
from the area and became quite scared not knowing what was in store. Some
Sharks had followed their boats .One 4 footer followed as far as
the shore......
These big fish give me the creeps aswell. :-()
What we like to know is has anyone ever been attacted or threatend
in a kayak? And is the best way to withdraw or hit them over the head
when the come within reach ? Or raft together to look bigger
? Any one with similar experience ?
Sharks are not often seen around here. Thanks in advance for any info.
Eddie.
