Uh-oh. Let me say this before things heat up, as a former proponent of neck rings who took much flack for it a while back. I used to use one until the time I purposely rolled in Lake Superior in May, forgetting that I had one on. I was cured after that. I still dont think they are as evil as some will portray them, but unless you're perfect (I wasnt) you may be sorry (or worse) you wore one at some point in the future.
