RE: [Paddlewise] WOMEN or is that a WOMAN?

Men have much higher VO2 max averages at the elite level endurance
sports---Cross country skiing, cycling, etc., the Oxygen and energy
processing ability is so drastically lopsided in favor of the men, the women
have to race in completely separate events, or end up completely shut out
every time.

But women can be more enjoyable to kayak with :-)

I seem to recall reading once that women are anatomicaly designed for long
term
endurance, where men are designed for short term brute strength.  It would
stand
to reason that women would be better at sea kayaking than men are.  The part
about the male tendency to use brute strength over finesse has already been
discussed here, so I won't bother with that.

    Paddling along through fog so thick that only one's thoughts are
visible, your reverie is abruptly shattered by the ancient cry of a great
