It is a good thing. It is giving me time to read

"Weather for the Mariner" by Kotsch, William J.  ISBN: 0-87021-756-9

After the first 3 chapters, I look at the weather map at
http://www.weather.com, 
then look at the clouds, the wind direction, and suddenly it all
makes sense. 

I can now predict the upcoming weather for the next 6 hours with
a lot of confidence, which comes in handy when trying to find a
'window' to paddle in the ocean.

It is a great book; I recommend it strongly to the paddling community.
