[Paddlewise] An idea for dealing with careless JetSkis/Boats

Here's a thought carelessly tossed in the ring:

Carry a small, highpowered paintball pistol. It's
nontoxic, stings like a mother, and won't kill them.
  A thought - it better be a brightly colored gun -
that way you won't be mistaken for an assassin, just a
pissed off kayaker whom they better steer clear of. 
 And it so handily straps right to the deck.

My inlaws used to have problems with the Jetskiers
from  across the lake. These guys used to go ripping
by the swim area, follow our boats too close and
generally acted in great disregard for the lake
community.

The first guy actually drove through the swim area
barely missing some departing boaters, a friend of
ours another lakehome owner chased him down with his
speed boat and royally chewed him out, wrote down his
license number and called the sheriff who issued a big
fat ticket. 

The second guy (a friend of the first) did the same
thing on the Fourth of July. - No one was swimming at
the time, but as we knew his route we readied a cannon
for his return pass. 
  I held one side, my brother the other, and my
brother inlaw commanded the waterballon sling. (It's
reputed to shoot a tennis ball sized ballon 120 yards
- and at 50 yards, it can hurt) 
   The Jetskier came through again and we drilled him
in the side of the chest and took him clean off the
Jetski. Man, that was so funny.
    His dad was fishing nearby and came to see what
his son was yelling about. Only to laugh and tell him
that it served him right and something about respect.
  - As he clambered back on and left, we wrote his
number down and called the sheriff who came over to
serve a breathalyzer.

    Ahh, Jetskis - good times.
