I read/saw a documentary that the Navy/Government was researching technology that could track subs buy using space based systems with radar/lasers that would measure the subs bulge in the water. The water has to go somewhere when a sub is submerged but to measure it? Would be really impressive if it was possible even on a calm day. Food for thought....
