I'm posting this for a friend who is looking for maritime type maps for the area off the Burma (now called Myamar) coast. The area is near a place called Ranong near where the Thai/Burma boarder meets. It is off the west coast in Burma waters - a bunch of small islands in the Andaman Sea just off the coast of Burma. Does anyone know where he can order maritime maps for this area of the world (prefer U.S. sources if possible) Thanks in advance! This is the Mergui Archipelago, recently visited by a small number of sea kayakers. It is covered by two British Admiralty charts, the northern one called 'Mergui' and the next one south. Woody You might try Bluewater Books and Charts in Ft. Lauderdale. They guarantee they have all the charts you may require world wide, including Admiralty charts.Try calling them at 1-800-942-2583. Hope that helps. By the way I am not affiliated with BW books. >Does anyone know where he can order maritime maps for this area of the world >(prefer U.S. sources if possible) Brgds Jeff Bingham *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.gasp-seakayak.net/paddlewise/ ***************************************************************************
No guarantee they'll have it, but you could try the Armchair Sailor on Thames Street in Newport RI. They're online at http://www.seabooks.com a good place. hth, Susan --- You wrote: Date: Mon, 7 Jun 1999 20:03:55 -0400 From: "Robert Woodard" <woodardr_at_tidalwave.net> Subject: [Paddlewise] Maritime maps I'm posting this for a friend who is looking for maritime type maps for the area off the Burma (now called Myamar) coast. Woody, >Does anyone know where he can order maritime maps for this area of the world(prefer U.S. sources if possible) http://www.tidesend.com/ has a large world wide selection of charts in their catalog. If it's not online, there will be a phone number to call for info.
