>I am in search of floating rope but not the common 3 ply polypro kind (that >stuff is too rough and stiff). I have called West Marine, E&B Marine, Boats >U.S., and a bunch of others and noone even has the ability to order any. >Suggestions? > This is a very common commodity for open boaters. Both Nantahala Outdoor Center and Northwest River Supply have this in their catalogs. It will range from 64 to 75 cents per foot. I usually use 3/8 to 1/2 inch diameter. Less than that could cut into your hands under tension, and a thicker rope is easier to grasp in cold conditions. Both mail order dealers have other sizes in stock for various purposes.
