Ed, Haven't seen many non-native skin boats that aren't foldables. However, you'd probably end up constructing a racing style skin boat in the same manner as a cedar strip boat; stations mounted on a strongback. With that in mind, find a strip-design suitable for racing and substitute three or four or five stringers to approximate the below waterline profile. Julio McWilliams, who's also on this list, did just that: built the wood boat, then notched the stations to accept the skin boat stringers.
