Bow and stern might be a little overkill. A kayak riding in saddles
will have space to flex a little, however with both bow and stern lines
it might be too restrictive, and actually cause damage to kayak
amidships. Sometimes, on a long haul I add a bowline, but keep it
loose, to restrict its forward travel if it gets loose.
