When I read the dust jacket, IIRC, it seemed plain to me the book was about the
rigors of commercial swordfishing. I read the book, and got what I expected.
Ms. Greenlaw did a fine job detailing what commercial fishing is like,
especially the peculiar love/hate relationship fishers have with their craft.
That was fascinating.

Because I live in a commercial fish boat town, and I know several commercial
fishers, the book was interesting to me. I've also lost a couple acquaintances
who fished, and my son has decked on charter boats (NOT the same scene as on a
commercial boat). That also made the book worth reading.

I never thought the book was intended to be about her experiences in the
Halloween Storm, before or after reading it.

I'd recommend it to anybody who wants to know what commercial fishing is
**really** like -- but never to someone who wanted to know about the "Perfect
Storm."
