Hello again,
I just purchased a Mitchell Slasher Paddle it has a custom carbon fiber shaft
and basswood/ash/f-glass blades. It has a lively feel and has a really
pleasing flex in the shaft.
I spend a lot of time in the off season in a university pool. I am
wonsering if I should be concerned abut the effects of pool chemicals on this
paddle.
I have seen paint come off fiberglass paddles before and really want to keep
this paddle looking good.
   Any advice?

My only complaint is that this paddle makes my nearly-new River Passage look
like a stiff turd.

Thanks
Phil

There are chemists on this group that can give you far better advice
than I can, but my take is that chlorine is very corrossive to almost
everything and I would give a good rinsing to all. I take a shower with
all my paddling garments then rinse them off a second time at home.
