Since Wes Boyd has decried the Romany, and by association the Explorer, as "Shrimp Boats" I'm feeling pretty good about my size. Granted the Explorer fits my 6'1" 230# roundness very snugly, but I do in fact fit, and it is a comfortable fit. There'll be hard pressed to find something to rip this bad boy out of his boat. All interested in the big guy boat issue - I wonder if Wes considered the Pygmy Boats Queen Charlotte XL? It is aimed at the big guy / long touring class. 17'6" x 25.5" width, 13" depth. I have not tried it but it looks like it fits the bill. jerry. I just checked the pygmy boats web site and did not see any reference to the cockpit measurements. The interior size of the coaming is a consideration for big guys. *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - All postings copyright the author and not to be reproduced outside PaddleWise without author's permission Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.paddlewise.net/ ***************************************************************************

My definition of a shrimp boat is anything that too small for ME to fit into.
