I think that I am starting a rumor that all of the SK (secret kayak) writers
will be receiving theirs through the postal service any day now.
So, check your mailboxes all of you. And only you really know who you are.

subject: [Paddlewise] Stopping leakage through rudder cable housings?
Date: Thu, 31 Aug 2000 19:58:51 -0400
My new surf ski is taking on about a half-gallon of water every time I take it
out....mainly, I think, because I'm still tipping over a lot and the cable
housings are considerably larger diameter than the cables.

Anybody got a simple, reliable, long-lasting fix?

My kneejerk reaction is to smear soap on the cables where they go through the
housings into the hull and then inject some sort of goop - like AquaSeal - and
let it harden, hoping it will adhere to the insides of the cable housings and
not to the cable itself...making a reasonably water-resistant bushing/seal.

Azul is the name adapted by Riot Kayaks for the sea boats that they will be
making in Quebec City beginning in a month or two. They will be producing
the Paradigm designed by Scott Williams of Sarasota,Fla. and calling it the
Calypso or Sultan. It's a high performance Brit style kayak, ~ 17.5' x
20.5" and my favorite boat. A couple of other kayaks designed by a man
from Vancouver will be in the Azul lineup.
