hi, i have been lurking ont the paddlewise list for a few days and i
feel compelled to say hi.

my name is weebee, and i live in maine. i am a relative newcomer to
kayaking. my best friend *dragged* me onto a sea kayak several years
ago.....*HOOKED!*

i finally bought a used sea kayak this summer (same kind i was
*dragged* into lol)

we have done a bit of kayaking off the maine coast and it is a very
incredible experience!

anyway, just wanted to say hi and hope to find out lots about where
you kayak, what kinds of boats you use and why, and share info from
here!

btw i need to explain... i type one handed as my blue and gold macaw
or one of my greys is perched upon the other. please pardon typos

thank you for this great list!
weebee and her parrots

Welcome to the best paddling site on the Web, and some of the nicest folks
as well...

Hi weebee! I'm on the left coast, and I just came in from paddling
with one of my whale friends - the one I call Spot (obviously, he's
got a prominent spot). There are eight resident Gray Whales here (WA
coast), and I have the honor of paddling with them almost every day.

During the Spring migration, there are many whales coming through,
and I enjoy paddling with all of them, but the locals and I are good
friends, and it's really special to be able to hang out with them. A
couple of them let me touch them, and one likes to play with my boaty
- by gently pushing the bow around.

I would really love to paddle in Maine sometime (and about a thousand
other places around the world) - so do tell us all about it!

Melissa

Hey weebee,
Welcome to a list that has many of the best features of "family."
My wife & I have a big soft spot for Maine. It's where we first encountered
kayaking. We've since returned twice -- paddling in the beautiful islands
off Stonington, in Muscongus Bay, and in the midcoast area (Rockport-Camden)
with friends who moved there recently from Connecticut. Paddling in your
backyard is sheer delight. Glad you're with us.

    Bob V
