Gee, I'm glad it's just not us Miamians who find floaters.  It's a recurring 
fear of mine - especially since I always do river/lake/canal clean up when I 
go out, so I actually paddle over to floating things.

I collected four supermarket bags of trash from "my" lakes a couple of weeks 
ago.  On the Santa Fe River (and others in Fla) I collect (in addition to 
beer and soda bottles and cans) those plastic or foam bait (worm) containers. 
 

Hmmm....maybe we could have an international Paddlewise Trash Collection Day. 
 We all go out (alone or with groups) and collect trash on behalf of the 
Paddlewise coalition for the betterment of our communties. ?????

sandy kramer in Miami who is getting tired of two days of solid rain (after 
having pressure cleaned the driveway and the deck and was hoping things would 
remain dry for sealing).  Glad I don't live in Seattle (or other rainy, 
drizzly parts) even though it is a lovely place.  Well, it's the far reaches 
of Hurricane Keith so I ain't really complaining.
