Fred<< Though I've seen some people wear their tunnels over their PFDs (usually the suspender type nylon tunnel - with either neoprene or nylon deck), I've never figured out why they would do such a thing. I always wear first my insulating layer(s), then the sprayskirt/tunnel, then drytop or paddling jacket, then PFD on top of everything. Or - when wearing a full drysuit - I still wear the PFD *over* the sprayskirt/tunnel. Frankly, wearing the skirt tunnel over a PFD makes no real sense to me at all. I can think of many reasons to wear the tunnel under the drytop, PFD, etc. Since using a sprayskirt has much to do with keeping water out of the boat, wearing a tunnel on the outside seems particularly counter-intuitive and awkward. I would be interested to hear an explanation of why anyone would do otherwise.
