    I'm planning to do exactly this on Saturday to try and determine the 
angle of lean where my Explorer likes to sit when it's "on edge". I suspect 
that one's sense of secondary stability derives from the comfort factor that 
a paddler has on either side of this magical angle, probably due to the 
predictability of the righting moment in that general vicinity.
