Ken, we travel sometimes for hours on superhighways at speeds that are,
shall we say, what the traffic will bear. We have a fairing for our Yakima
rack and we think it's great. The noise reduction is phenomenal, even at
much saner speeds. And, bottom line, our kayaks have never left us.
According to my unscientific observations, the bow line gets just as taut
with or without the fairing. On shorter, slower drives on which the speed
would never exceed 50, we have traveled (I'll admit it here) without the bow
lines, also without any hint of excessive lift. I think that Thule needs
to find a better salesperson.
