I have now been out for my second paddle. I am finding that my left leg goes numb. That is not quite the right word....it is not a prickly/pins and needles kind of feeling, more like I really want to move it and the muscles are sore. It is bad when I am in the boat, but when I go to get out, it doesn't obey me and I end up flat on the ground. It is like the muscles are all turned to rubber. It takes a while for it to come back into proper use, 10-20 mins. or so. Any ideas what causes this? Am I just not used to this kind of position and need to stretch my way into this kind of sitting position...as in, do something to increase my flexibility so that I can tolerate this kind of sitting position.
