Does anyone on the list have experience paddling Ross lake (in Washington state)? We normally like to paddle off Vancouver island, but one of our group suggested as change of pace that we try a family expedition on Ross lake. My concern is that I've heard the shorelines are "stumpy" and muddy in low waters, which I'm guessing may be lower than normal given the dry weather we've had in the Pacific Northwest. We're thinking of spending maybe 5 days there, perhaps in July. What's it like? Buggy? Good camps? Appropriate for younger paddlers (like, a not particularly athletic 13 year old girl)? Any good sources of information on the 'net? Any info will be appreciated.
