I've had a lot of clients who are diabetic. On day rafting trips they commonly wouldn't say anything, just kind of slide into a less active state. Usually a relative would tell us and we would get to the cars more quickly. Once, while on the Middle Fork of the Salmon, one kayaker insisted on stopping to eat quite often. This was ok until one time we were floating through a forest fire and had been told not to stop due to falling rocks. That time I wondered if the person on the raft couldn't give him a sandwich while floating as it was flat. On longer sea kayaking trips (and ww) people carry their kits with them in the boat, plus extra food. I suppose it would be good for someone else to have glucosamine? Then others can help by squirting it in the mouth if need be?
