I am a member of the Leukemia Society Regatta Committee, Hampton Roads, VA, Chapter. We are having the regatta in July in Deltaville, VA. Last year we offered an event to kayakers to give them a chance to raise money for the cause. We had some participants. This year we want to attract even more. I have been given the task of figuring out some event that could be incorporated with the paddle this year that would be fun and educational. We launch from Middlesex Co., VA and paddle out to a private island in the Piankatank River and eat, drink and get merry. I thought about a scavenger hunt along the way, but it has it's draw backs. Can anyone give me some ideas for events that could incorporate fund raising, be fun and educational? I would appreciate all and every idea. Thanks.
