I will be attending the festival with several of my club members from Augusta, GA. Jim Farrelly is one who posts on Paddlewise often. We will be camping on and around campsite 104,105, 106. Drop by. Looking forward to meeting you guys. I don't have a tee shirt though. Just look for an old man with long white hair and a beard, paddling a wooden boat with a cut down white water paddle. Paddle more, be safe, and live long Ronnie *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s). My kids, or my granddads? :-) BTW - my 11 year old recently explained to me why she was sooooo much smarter than I am. Apparently, it's because I'm soooooo old (40) that I've had plenty of time to forget most of what I once knew. What are bugs like at this time of year in the Charleston SC area? Mosquitoes season yet? Others? Should I bring a bug jacket? The mosquitos are bad at night, from sundown on. For me, the sand fleas (midges) are worse. They were hatching during the festival a couple of years ago and very hungry. Some people like Skin-So-Soft. I prefer socks and long pants, as they tend to fly low. -- Steve Cramer *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s). They gnats are bad in the early morning and again in the evening with some mosquitoes. What are bugs like at this time of year in the Charleston SC area? The mosquitoes are plentiful, also sand gnats, and no see-ums. Night time is the worst. The trick is to take a shower, dry off and then apply Avon's Skin so Soft to your whole body. Then use insect repellent as needed. Take your repellant with you where ever you go.
