Well my snapdragon combination neoprene/nylon spray skirt is beginning to
show the effects of too much exposure to the sun, so am looking into a new
spray skirt.

Anyone have experience with the Bomber Gear "Tour de Jour"? It seems like a
pretty beefy all fabric skirt, with a "bellows" that is supposed to keep
water from pooling in your lap. I do not want another snapdragon hybrid,
since waves just puddled on the neoprene then leaked down the seam between
the neoprene and the nylon, so I am not sure that the neoprene really did
any good. Also, I like the gear pocket on the outside on the Tour de Jour,
since having to uncinch the waist strap to get at your gear seems to defeat
the whole purpose of a spray skirt.

For the kind of paddling I do, I dont think I want to go all neoprene. But
I do regularly paddle and surf on wind waves (not shore breaks), and
practice rolling every paddle. Will a fabric skirt hold up? Keep me dry
(mostly)? Not sag when a wave breaks in my lap?

I have three skirts that I use(d) on my CD Gulfstream. The first is an el
cheapo nylon skirt that was given to me when I bought the boat. It leaks>
like a sieve and puddles a lot.

The 2nd skirt is a Wild Wasser all nylon with an implosion bar and a pocket
on the deck. I had Wild Wasser tighten it because the dealer gave me the
wrong size skirt to start. They sold me a super keyhole size and my cockpit
is a standard size. It works very well, but does leak a little in surf. I
use it on hot days when the water only cools me off.

I also use a Snap Dragon neoprene deck with a nylon tunnel and it keeps me
completely dry in surf. There is NO sag or puddling on the deck.

Is your skirt the correct size for your cockpit or is it just stretched out
and worn out?

I would buy either the Wild Wasser or Snap Dragon again in a heart beat.
