[Paddlewise] Paddling in Georgia around Savannah

Well, I'm starting to think about a February or early March trip to locales
further south.  Canoe & Kayak mag has a Destinations piece about Savannah,
which peaked my interest.





Any paddlers familiar with that general area and willing to offer advice?  I'd
have about 5 days of paddling time, not including traveling days.  On this
trip, the preference is to car camp and I strongly prefer "parks" over private
camp grounds.  Will be interested in side trips to town for good seafood, and
other attractions in the evening, but it's not necessary.  For paddling, will
want lots of beautiful scenery and wildlife, but will tolerate the occasional
road, building, etc., as long as the area is not congested, noisy and
otherwise urban.





Not looking for challenging water on this trip, but rather, serenity, scenery
and so forth.  Want routes that will keep me on the water for at least 5-6
hours each day (ie:  no small bodies of water that I'd fully explore in a
couple hours time).  Also, routes will need to be "out and back" to avoid
arranging shuttles and having to comply with a schedule.





If you know of places in that vicinity, a simple response with the name of the
body of water (ahhh, a little more detailed than "Atlantic Ocean", though)
will get me started with an internet search for details.  But, of course, feel
free to offer as much info as you care to type!





If others think that they might be in that area during the same basic time
frame, let me know.
