RalphH: Green "chemical" gloves work for me with and without liners and come
in truly huge sizes. That's mostly for paddling truly in the depth of winter
though. I tend to get away with latex surgical gloves most of the time -- I
reckon it's not so much a question of acquiring thick (and therefore
cumbersome) insulation layers, but rather of preventing the drastic cooling
effect of evaporation of moisture directly off the skin of the fingers that
has the greatest effect.

Best regards,
Ralph

I use Glacier gloves which are neoprene and watertight... My
hands stay toasty and warm in them without liners. I sometimes use pogies in
colder weather but they are often too warm.

WRT dsihwashing gloves, a few people I know in this area use those
big Yellow Playtex gloves. They are certainly not tight. Usually some liner
beneath.

For my purposes, having a tight-fitting glove works against me, in
that it restricts circulation to my hands and they inevitably get colder.
--And if they're wet it's even worse.
