For years I used Thule racks & their H2Go Kayak Saddles with my Necky Looksha 3(Kevlar) - the sides of the Thule H2Go saddles were adjustable and wrapped up tight against the side of the kayak to form the cradle and prevent any sideways movement. A good snug fit and secured the boat perfectly. However, I recently purchased a new car and put Yakima Racks & their Mako Saddles on it and cannot get the sides of the Mako's to come up against the side of Looksha to form the cradle; therefore, it is not holding the boat securely. The plastic used in the Mako's is just not very flexible and strap pressure alone will not pull them up against the sides of the boat. So, a twofold question? 1) has anyone had the same problem and come up with a solution -or- 2) ideally, has anyone ever made Thule H2Go Cradles work on Yakima bars. I still have the Thule saddle carriers and would gladly use them if there was a way to make them fit the round Yakima bars.
