I appreciate the quick and thoughtful responses I received to my question
about binoculars. I noticed these at Campmor and would like some feedback,
please. Thanks, Marsanne

1.	10-power is actually a lot to hold steady and focused on a distant object in
a pitching boat.
2.	IIRC you want these for a busy waterway. Do you need effectiveness in
poor-light? If so, then look for larger objective lenses (25 is small) and
larger exit pupil (10/25 = 2.5mm).

Unless you feel you need this level of quality and ease of use, for about $20
you can get about the same power (I have 8 x 21) in the lttle two-barrel
binocs. Most models are not waterproof, but at the price they are less of an
investment to lose and so you take them along in your PFD pocket more often.

With 10x, it is impossible to keep the image still; 8x is better and 7x is
best from a kayak unless you're on flat water in a barge. Roof prism
binoculars are typically waterprooof; porro not so. Not sure about these,
but if you're planning to look at anything interesting for more than a few
minutes at a time (wildlife, for instance) spending the extra money on a
good mid-range binocular (especially if you wear glasses or want to look
through sunglasses) is well worth it.
