I've lost half of my 230 cm previous "Euro" paddle, and have one more problem to solve this winter: what length to buy? I'm 5'6" (170 cm), paddling 24" Seayak in North Pacific - mostly day-trips and when it's below 10 knots. Another kayak is folding 25" wide, used less often - and I think to use the same paddle for both of them. This time I'll go for a fiberglass. 4-piece Aquabound Expedition for $130 (37 oz 230 cm) is my choice so far (4-piece because of folder). I'm not that skilled, but got a feeling that previous 230 cm paddle was a little bit short. 235 cm should be OK, but very few paddles are 235, and Aquas are either 230 or 240. Perhaps it's a stupid question, or this is a subjective thing, but can anybody give his opinion or statistics regarding the choice between 230 and 240 cm? Another option (hopefully feasible) is to cut 240 down to 235. Also - what is a real weight of 230 cm feathered 4-piece fiberglass Aqua Expedition - 1140 g or 1050 g? Different shops give different values, while official site gives 37 oz (1050 g). Too wide discrepancy - like between carbon and glass paddles.
