I noticed it was published in the latest special issue of "Kayak Touring" by Canoe & Kayak Magazine. (I usually don't bother with these special editions as they are somewhat banal for anyone other than entry-level paddlers, but the recent issue had a great piece (two actually) by Jon Turk - one titled "Ocean Chaos" that should be an interesting read for beginners, I'm sure!) I'm also looking forward to the new book on sea kayaking and risk co-authored by Doug Alderson of local fame and Mike Pardy of ORS. That a publisher was/is willing to take on the "risk" of actually publishing a book with a high content given to risk management specific to paddling is a real feather in the cap of these fine two long-time paddlers. The book is titled "Handbook of Safety and Rescue" and is due out in March. I hope all my comments above meet with the approval of the individuals referenced - if not, I apologize proactively. I'm afraid to open my mouth these days - too busy most days anyway to post.
