With a horizontal rain blowing the 100 or so friends and family members who gathered to see them off, Larry Koenig and Arthur Hebert launched their yaks into the surf at Grand Isle, La, this morning at approximately 10:30 am. So they're on their way on their 4,000 mile, 6 month journey around the circumference of the Gulf of Mexico. We had good news coverage within the state. Those of you in Texas, Mexico, Florida, Alabama, and Mississippi, they'll be in your state's coastal waters at some point during the next 6 months.
