Hi Evan. I drove up there a few years ago. It took two long days to drive
from Vancouver BC to Whitehorse and maybe another five hours to get to
Dawson City. I brought a canoe with me but I didn't do any paddling on the
Yukon River.

I went in early July and it was very buggy (mosquitoes and horse flies).
I've heard that the end of August, early September is better bug wise. The
bonus of going earlier is the 20 plus hours of daylight.

Here's a link that may prove useful. http://www.paddles.com/users/

If you go you have to stop at Braeburn Lodge for their world famous cinnamon
buns! Amazing! (It's about 200km past Whitehorse)

Good luck!
