Nice wood and nice craftsmanship, natural.  Ugly wood or what was I doing
construction - paint.

Why limit yourself to just the deck?  I've seen some very cool looking
skin/frame boats with eyes, mouths etc.  Put the decorative paint/dye
on before putting on the sealant.  I know I've got pictures of a couple
of cool painted boats around here somewhere...  There are some pictures 
of painted hulls on the spirit line site  http://www.skinboats.com/
