The Sea Lion that I first paddled was about 6 years ago. It was a plastic
version. I have also seen a Sea Lion S, a smaller fiberglass version
(16'6", I think) about five years ago at a symposium. I know that the
first year that the Eclipse came out it had "Sea Lion" as part of the logo
but even though the Shadow was supposed to be a smaller version of the
Eclipse it didn't include "Sea Lion" as part of the name.

What I find interesting is that the original poster said that it was a Sea
Lion by Perception. I don't recall exactly when the name change occurred
but Perception was once called Aquaterra, and may have only been Perception
for a year or so before the Sea Lion was replaced with the Eclipse. I
check on the Sea Kayaker magazine boat reviews page and they reviewed an
Sea Lion by Aquaterra in issue 45 (April 1995). Unfortunately, they only
publish a small number of their reviews online and charge for back issues
of those they didn't put on line.
