I am planning a 3 week trip to paddle Yellowstone Lake, Lake Jackson (Grand Teton Nat. Park), and Flaming Gorge Reservoir. I would like to do a 4-5 day trip on each lake with travel days and a few hikes taking up the rest of the 3 weeks. Generally I like to paddle 12-15 Nm (4-5 hrs.) between campsites, but I am able to stretch a day out to 20 Nm for a really good site. Right now I am looking at the Southeast Arm of Yellowstone Lake and the Red Canyon area (starting at Sheep Creek area) of Flaming Gorge. I have no specific plans for Lake Jackson yet. I will be going Sept 6 - Sept 28.

I would appreciate any info on selecting launch sites (leaving car for 4-5 days), campsites , special hazards, and things not to miss. Beside specific site recommendations, I would be interested in knowing if any special tent stakes (sand/rock style) should be carried for any of the areas. Also do all the campsites generally have sufficient trees available for setting up tarps without carrying extra poles.

Please feel free to state the obvious since I have very little backcountry camping experience and the obvious often eludes me.
