I can't claim a long distance compared to others, but I will claim significant impairment. One day in the Charlottes, I loaded my single with 100 lbs of vegetables (why wouldn't those dudes eat the &%$#$!_at_ cabbages __first__?) and trailed three sleek doubles 27 miles around points, through passes, and back and forth in search of a decent campsite. Some three or four shore stops to check out camps and 12 hours later, I crawled into my tent and groaned softly. We never did finish the blinking cabbages. I think it was a plot to slow me down. My wrists still hurt. (Yeah, I know, I can hear the tiny violins playing.) -- Dave Kruger Astoria, OR *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
