G'Day, A number of us in Australia are wondering about a handheld VHF Transceiver called the "Hummingbird", which we have seen advertised on the web as available from the US at a pretty good price. Does anyone have any experience with this unit? Also can anyone comment on the difference between "Sony" and "Sony Style" shortwave radios. They are both marketed by Sony, both seem to be exactly the same type of radio but the US Sony Style is a lot cheaper. Thanks for any advice you can give. It's not waterproof, so you always have to keep it in the included plastic case. It works fine. At first I couldn't buy an AA battery adapter, which was a minus, but now one is available. It's kind of big, but the price was definitely right and, like I said, it works. ----- Original Message ----- From: "PeterO" <rebyl_kayak_at_iprimus.com.au> > G'Day, > A number of us in Australia are wondering about a handheld VHF Transceiver > called the "Hummingbird", which we have seen advertised on the web as > available from the US at a pretty good price.
