I used to use things like WD-40 and the like to remove glue but now
I use one of the citrus based solvents first.

The one I have at hand is "De-Solv-it" "Contractors' Solvent" I think
I bought it at Home Depot. Duct tape is listed as one of the many things
it will remove. 
Really good stuff.
