I recently finished building my personal version of the Redfish King. Yes I bought the plans. After completing the boat and some sea trials one of my friends raised the following question. "What are you going to do about the sharp pointed bow of your boat?" My good friend is concerned that the bow is a hazard. My initial response was that he should stay out of my way. I apologize for the glib answer. After reading about the unfortunate guy who took a shot from some misdirected kayak. I have considered installing a clown nose, as was suggested here, but rejected the idea as I fear some real clown out on the water might take offence and bring legal action against me for behaving in a clown like manner without a licence to do so. Consequently I am looking for some sort of blunt object safety device that can be attached or installed on the bow of my boat to protect one and all. I anticipate that my search will be long and hard even though it should be short and blunt. In order to facilitate my endeavors and offset research and development, I will accept all financial contributions or failing that any pertinent suggestions. If you would like to make a financial contribution or make a suggestion please post to Paddlewise. Those who cannot think of a solution but still want to contribute can just send cash.
