Does anybody have info on a good route(s), sea kayak rental group (with good equipment!) etc.. around Cape Town South Africa? I'll be on a business trip there this coming February, and would like to make arrangements for a 2-3 night ocean paddle. Thanks for any/all advice. Mike

Hi Mike,
Try Leon Franken at Coastal Kayak Trails, Tel/Fax: +27 (0)21 439 1134. Cell:
083 310 1253
Email: kayak_at_kayak.co.za

I've been on some day paddles with him, but he also organises longer trips.

Or contacts Johan Loots, www.seakayak.co.za. He's the local guru on sea
kayaking and safety. Tell him Paul Ash, ex Out There magazine, sent you.

Cheers

Paul

The Cape is very similar to Northern California, cold water, occasional
white sharks and kelp. I used to dive and paddle ski there...when I was
younger and fitter.
