I've heard some rumors from the West Coast Sea Kayak Symposium that were far from being accurate, so I can't comment on what was said in that other chat site unless I read it myself. I think I announced our intention of retiring on Paddlewise a while back, maybe you missed it then. There will be an advertisement in Sea Kayaker's next issue making it "official". Details as best we know them can be found on our homepage. Essentially, we are promising to fill orders for kayak that are received by years end. We will also listen to serious inquiries and offers concerning the sale of "Mariner Kayaks" as well but we will retire whether or not we sell the store (and/or the rights to produce our kayak designs--which could be separated).
