If I got it right, there are only 2 Blue Chart sections for West coast
(doesn't matter, CD or memory card). Northern and Southern. The latter
covers all the US West coast from Seattle to somewhere near Panama. So,
everybody using the Bluechart anywhere from Northern WA to Southern CA, must
have Baja too.

Btw, leaving aside the convenience of working with waypoints, paper kayaking
maps combined with GPS basemap are adequate for this area. I have them cut
in smaller pieces, laminated and sewn together like a notebook - the idea
suggested by somebody on this list. Only those distant islands 30 miles
away and more offshore are not covered by paper maps.

They are not 1:40,000 charts. They are even worse :-) 1:50,000 - and they
are so-called "kayaking maps", not real marine charts. No details of
currents or reefs. It only shows wide areas with reefs and currents.
Also, - dirt roads, marinas, navaids, RV parks etc. And potential
campsites for kayakers - many of them useful only under certain wind
condtitions. Similar to Baja kayaking maps by Ed Gillet. I couldn't find
his maps locally, and bought these:
