Any recommendations on what kind of thread to use to do some repairs on a
nylon spray skirt?
I assume I should use nylon thread, but maybe someone has a better
alternative.

The thing is only 6 years old; I hate to throw it away just because it has
three giant holes in it.

Dacron thread. Avoid the cotton-coated dacron core (aka polyester) stuff.
Works well on my wing paddle, also.

Dave,

I have not had occasion to sew up my wing paddle. But I am damned curious as
to how that would work.

When did you get a wing?

Not. Just useful when posting off-topic to allow for the mandatory
gratuitous paddling related sentence.

I wondered when you would ask [grin]!

Now, about that Greenland stick ...

LOL... so you just couldn't stand watching an old guy pulling away, huh?
<grin> An Epic I assume? We'll have to meet up and you can let me try it
and see how it compares to mine. They do make a big difference. Hard to
believe, actually. When you borrowed mine you mentioned that it affected
your shoulder. How's that working out.

Dave, - is Dacron a nylon or polyesther? Both are good, IMHO - but cotton
blend of course isn't. I prefer pure nylon to pure polyesther, as nylon can
also be reinforced additionally with a drop of Aquaseal over the seam, while
polyesther has poor adhesion.

Have not had that problem, maybe because I roughen before applying
Aquaseal. Dacron is a polyester:
