Kayakers, I've been building paddles for a while now, and when I went over my collection of home-built paddles, I was surprised to find how productive I've been. It just goes to show what spending a couple hours tinkering in the garage every night can do instead wasting time watching TV. By the way, over the years I've probably built over 25 paddles, many of which didn't meet my high standards and are hanging on other people's walls as nautical art, were sold as is, or were chopped up and thrown away. http://www.rollordrown.com/kayak/images/padcol1.jpg Left to right: Euro blade crossing paddle, 88", Sitka spruce and carbon fiber Euro blade crossing paddle, 88", SPF wood and carbon fiber Euro blade high angle paddle, 84", Sitka spruce and carbon fiber Euro blade surf paddle, 74", Sitka spruce and carbon fiber Single blade spare, 48", Douglas fir and carbon fiber Greenland crossing paddle, was 88", chopped to 84", Sitka spruce Greenland surf paddle with thick loom, 84", Sitka spruce Greenland two-piece paddle, 84", Sitka spruce Greenland crossing paddle, 84", Sitka spruce Greenland storm paddle, 72", Sitka spruce Greenland mini spare paddle, 48", Sitka spruce Norsaq rolling stick, 18", Sitka spruce Of course, any paddle collection of mine is always changing.
