Perhaps everyone has seen this clip on Youtube. If not, and you
are interested in rolling, the post shows Alison Sigethy doing her
rolling routine at Arrowhead last year.

Posted on Youtube by Robin Snow.

I don't think I can do any of these moves, even by themselves.

Wow. What is she wearing? Looks like a full-body sprayskirt?

She's wearing a Tuilik.

The tuilik makes you "one" with the boat. The hood cinches around your
face, then it has wrist closures. Very little leakage.

Brooks makes tuilik's:

http://www.qajaqusa.org will have tons of info on the rolls, and gear
shown in the video.

[Please remove all old content that is not pertinent to your reply
including old headers and footers. It's list policy....
this post was modified to meet policy]

She is wearing a Tuilik, a traditional Inuit garment which originally is
made of seal skin. Ours are neoprene. It seals around the face and wrists.
The garment hangs down to your knees and ties around the combing of the
cockpit. No pfd is worn as the air trapped inside aids floatation. You must
roll up in this get up as the fitting of the boats with the tight Masik
across the thighs makes a wet exit a long term affair.

Thanks Chuck,

Don't think I've ever seen such an elegant sequence of rolls - wonderful! For the first time I could see the beauty of a greenland paddle in action. Are there a whole bunch of people out there specialising in that kind of skill?

All the best, PeterO
