Hi Dave, I've had one of Steve Gurney's Bumfortable seats for a few years in my race boat. Expensive, yes, but as you say it saves the hassle of carving your own. I think there are two sizes made, I'm not saying which mine is :-), but it fits well. I have packed a wedge of foam under the front so as to tip the front up a little and have drilled a couple of drain holes to stop the swimming pool-effect. Simple to fit, little chance of breaking it, I'm happy.
